still snowy

I saw the Ice Jams on the lower Anchor River a few days ago, awesome as usual. Yesterday I ventured to the winter den on Bear Ridge. There was no sign of spring out there, other than the 39 degrees on them thermometer. Still easy three feet on the sledding hill, Moosehorn and caribou lakes (beluga also) are still frozen and white. All the creeks and streams draining into the mighty Anchor are still covered with several feet of snow. We hope to be done riding by fishing season. We'll see...Watch for Bears

It sounds as if we can expect to have a little more run off on the lower Anchor River - with that much snow in the hills and the ice jams we already have - it could get ugly! Check out the Picnic Hole, it will be intersting to see if it goes back to the way it was last year. Assuming from your Bear Ridge weather report, I guess it is a little early for the wild Coffee Bean plants to be blooming. What if we put your "Bear Den" on skis, you could pull it behind your sled and have a portable cabin anywhere you wanted to travel in the winter time. You would have the very first snow machine travel trailer, but first we have to jack it up to keep it from settling any further into the mud at the HITW - you can still look through the windows but you are going to have to dig a trench to get the door open.

Glad to hear you are still getting some riding in. John has the moose calves and my pups working for thier food, shoveling that sh__ out of my yard. You could probably ride you machine all the way down my street...the neighbors finally seeing the point to my yearly efforts. or they are digging their boats and motor homes out of the back yard.

The Chief Administraor needs your email address so she can send you the secret code to the HITW. For some reason none of us have your email address - I think you changed it about a year ago.
